Image Playground: create, refine, finish

The catch-all image tool inside On-Model. Generate from a prompt, refine an existing shot turn by turn, and finish what the core tools leave off.

By On-Model Team

A dark studio wall of floating fashion image cards, portraits, garments, a colorway pair, a packshot, and a lifestyle scene, the Image Playground creative canvas

You generate an on-model shot or a packshot and it's almost perfect, but you want one more thing. A warmer light, a softer background, the product dropped into a quick scene. Or you just need a one-off image that doesn't fit any of the fixed tools. Until now that meant starting a whole new job, or leaving On-Model for a generic editor that knows nothing about your models or your catalog.

Image Playground is the new catch-all image tool inside On-Model. Generate a single image from a prompt, refine an existing one turn by turn, compose from several images, or drop a saved model into a scene. It's live today on every plan, from 3 credits per image.

What Image Playground is

Image Playground is a chat-style, single-image generator and editor. You describe what you want, attach your own images or tag a saved identity, and get a few variations back. Then you keep talking to it, turn by turn, until the image is right. It's the general-purpose tool for the one-off creative and finishing jobs the fixed apps don't cover.

Quality comes in three levels, Low, Medium, and High, mapped to 1K, 2K, and 4K output at 3, 5, and 10 credits per image. The free tier covers 1K; Medium and High, plus exact custom output dimensions, are available on Pro plans and above.

Image Playground isn't a batch tool. When you need consistent imagery across a whole catalog, reach for the core apps: Flat-to-Model, Create Packshot, Model Swap, and Garment Recolor. Image Playground is where you finish a single shot or handle a one-off.

Here are a few finishing touches, each from a single plain-language instruction. Hover any image to see the original.

How it works

You'll find Image Playground in the On-Model sidebar under Utilities, next to Detail Repair and Create Identity (look for the New badge). It's a chat, so there's no fixed number of steps, but here's a full run.

1. Start with a prompt, or an example

Describe what you want, attach an image with the + button, or pick one of the built-in starters to fill in your message. Here we've attached a product shot and asked for a clean white background.

Attach an image, write an instruction, or pick a starter example.

2. Set your quality and size

Choose a quality level once for the conversation: Low, Medium, and High map to 1K, 2K, and 4K at 3, 5, and 10 credits, and you're billed per image you generate. Output size is chosen per turn, from Match to a specific ratio.

Quality is set for the conversation; output size is chosen per turn.

3. Tag a saved model

Bring in a model from your catalog. Here we've tagged Olivia and asked for a dramatic perfume portrait, so she lands in the scene exactly as described, with no casting or reshoot.

Tag a saved identity like Olivia, then describe the shot.

4. Refine, turn by turn

Every turn builds on the last. Turn one gives the portrait; ask for full-body framing and turn two keeps the same lighting and mood, with no starting over.

One conversation, two turns: a dramatic portrait, then a full-body reframe.

Why it matters

It's a supporting utility, not a headline feature, but it closes a gap the fixed tools always left open:

  • One place for the one-offs. The creative and finishing jobs that used to mean a fresh job or a different app now live next to everything else.
  • It knows your catalog. Start from your own assets, drop in a saved identity, or finish a Flat-to-Model or Create Packshot result without leaving On-Model.
  • Refine instead of re-roll. Turn-by-turn editing means a small fix never risks the parts that were already right.
  • Edit product photos in plain language. It works as an AI product photo editor: adjust a background, warm the light, or clean up a scene, just by describing it. For a targeted fix to a logo or text, reach for Detail Repair.

Common questions

What is Image Playground? A chat-style, single-image generator and editor inside On-Model. Generate from a prompt, refine an existing image turn by turn, compose from several images, or drop a saved model into a scene.

How is it different from Flat-to-Model, Packshot, Model Swap, and Garment Recolor? Those produce consistent imagery across your catalog. Image Playground is the last-step surface for a single image: polish a result, put a product in a scene, tweak a background, or place a saved identity. It's a companion to the core apps, not a replacement.

Is it a batch tool? No. It works one image at a time, turn by turn. For consistent sets across a whole catalog, use the core apps.

How do credits and quality work? From 3 credits per image. Quality is Low, Medium, or High, mapped to 1K, 2K, and 4K at 3, 5, and 10 credits. You can generate a few variations from a single prompt.

Which plans include it? Every plan. The free tier covers 1K output; Medium and High quality, plus exact custom dimensions, are available on Pro plans and above.
